Sharon Board of Health Mask Order

Overview

Requested information about Sharon Board of Health influence on Sharon Schools mask policy, and mask exemption policy. The request was for emails from external organizations as well as information about guidelines for issuing mask exemptions. Received only mass mailings from Massachusetts Association of Health Boards. The link to the FDA Pfizer vaccine package insert states that there is insufficient safety information for pregnant and nursing women.

RE: Request for Public Records Responsive To Multiple External Email Addresses and Electronic Policy Documents Responsive to Mask Exemptions and/or Accommodation as well as all Discipline Policies Regarding Masks

Good Evening Sharon Public Health Nurse/Administrator McClean and Sharon Department of Health,

At the start of the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school year, Sharon parents were promised that schools would grant exemptions to the mask wearing rules to all children who have a medical condition. Many Sharon parents feel that their children were improperly denied medical accommodations, often in violation of their IEP and 504 plans we believe. The Sharon Board of Health and Department of Health played a role in helping the public school develop its mask policy. Every parent has a legitimate right to know what guidelines are used to determine who qualifies for a mask exemption, how these guidelines were developed, and the influence of external stakeholders.

Therefore, I request that the Sharon Board of Health and the Sharon Department of Health produce the following in FULL:

  1. All emails exchanged between Health Administrator and Public Health Nurse Leandra McLean and email addresses ending in: aft.org and/or nea.org and/or massteacher.org and/or masc.org and/or massupt.org and/or mahb.org and/or mhalink.org and/or msno.org and/or mcaap.org and/or aap.org and/or maphn.org and/or mhoa.com and/or maeha.org and/or massnurses.org and/or sharonteachers.com including if Leandra McLean was cc'd from one of them or forwarded a message from one of them.

  3. Board of Health member Mena Mesiha and email addresses ending in: aft.org and/or nea.org and/or massteacher.org and/or masc.org and/or massupt.org and/or mahb.org and/or mhalink.org and/or msno.org and/or mcaap.org and/or aap.org and/or maphn.org and/or mhoa.com and/or maeha.org and/or massnurses.org and/or sharonteachers.com including if Mena Mesiha was cc'd from one of them or forwarded a message from one of them.

  5. Board of Health Member Jeanne Freeman and email addresses ending in: aft.org and/or nea.org and/or massteacher.org and/or masc.org and/or massupt.org and/or mahb.org and/or mhalink.org and/or msno.org and/or mcaap.org and/or aap.org and/or maphn.org and/or mhoa.com and/or maeha.org and/or massnurses.org and/or sharonteachers.com including if Jeanne Freeman was cc'd from one of them or forwarded a message from one of them.

  6. All electronic documents held by the Department of Health or Board of Health that describe who should or should not get a mask exemption and/or accommodation as well as any recommendations for discipline of citizens (not limited to students). Search terms: mask exemption, mask guidance, and mask wearing exemption as well as discipline regarding a mask.

For all the above 1-6 date ranges  5/27/2021 - 9/21/2021 and regardless the format, regardless the location, and we would like to receive these records electronically.

I also request a fee waiver given the great public interest in our town, and across the state, and to promote transparency, accountability and integrity in our beloved government while we the people request to gain access reasonably to public records that the Town of Sharon custodians for us, thank you.

Thank you for your time and anticipated cooperation for all responsive records to be sent to us within 10 business days, so we can fully understand the Sharon Public School Districts decisions that greatly impacted the Sharon Public School District Families. #BlackLivesMatter #StudentLivesMatter #Constitution
